Council for the Livable World works to elect senators who promote peaceful foreign policy

They examine political positions and votes in order to select candidates who favor arms control and the use of diplomacy and developmental aid rather than simple military force. Their candidates are always worth supporting and the Council has been successful in electing a number of good senators However, they have never been able to elect enough senators to shift the basic strategic center of U.S. foreign policy.
